Welcome to Sark Carriages

Sark Carriages one of Sark’s longest established carriage tour operators is situated in the north east corner of Sark at Le Grand Fort Farm. The Horse and carriage business at Le Grand Fort originally started back in the late 1800s by Hepsibar Perrée who first held the Royal Mail contract transporting the mail by white mule and trap from Creux Harbour up to the post office. Then later Charles Perrée one of the late Royal coachmen operated from Le Grand Fort with his horses, delivering coal, cargo, and the carriage tours around the Island. The Business was then passed down to John and Hannie Perrée who over the years took thousands of happy visitors around the island showing them Sark’s fantastic views and a insight into the way of life on the Island. Now all those Generations later Sark Carriages is still in operation by owner and manager Michelle Perrée with an assortment of vehicles for horse-drawn transport and around the Island trips for the visitors who wish to have a leisurely way of seeing the island of Sark.

Sark Carriages is also now well known for specializing in night carriages, taxis, driving tuition, weddings and other special occasions.

The Isle of Sark Channel Islands
The island of Sark is arguably the least known and least visited of the Channel Islands. It is a romantic hideaway from the pressures of the modern world, and one of its charms is the lack of tourist infrastructure. The fact that the only means of transport is by foot, bicycle, tractor or horse and carriage, only serve to add to its overall appeal.Contrast it with the urban living on mainland Britain and it is a formula that will captivate anyone who sets foot on these shores.
